School
So, I survived the first day.
It began with me being late-ish. We had orientation first thing, and when I got to the school, they had already gone in. I went to my orientation class, to find out that I was the second-to-last person to arrive. And, I had to be shown the right room by the principal. This didn’t help me much. I mean, I was not excited about school. I don’t really like it. (except english class…I don’t mind that too much.) Luckily, me and my best friend have every single class together except for one. That one just happens to be French. -sigh-
French class is already going bad. I have no idea what she’s saying! She talks really fast in French. Everyone else in the class has had at least one year of French. Not me. Thankfully, I sit right next to one of my friends, and she happens to be one of the best in the class. She was pretty much my translator today.
Things have been going pretty good. I’m just really tired already. I forgot how much energy it takes to sit in a desk and actually try to listen…=)
On a different note, I’ve really wanted to listen to some good techno bands, but I don’t know any. I’ve heard a few little bits of songs, but I don’t really know who their by. So, if anyone can recommend a really good techno band, please do.
Peace

Vh1, computer trouble, and me
So…this post is slightly random. First off, I don’t know how often I’ll be able to post now, because, our laptop is acting up, and I think we’ve got a virus. =( Icky stuff. It’s hardly even worth starting our computer up anymore. -sigh-
Vh1 will soon leave my nightly routine, because I watch it starting at 1 AM. My nocturnal nights will soon be over. I am NOT ready for summer to be over, and for school to start. It seems like summer has hardly started, and already it’s ending.
Anyway, I’m watching Vh1 right now (LOVE IT!) and I’ve got a few song recommendations for you all.
Duffy. Except for her song ‘Mercy’. That song is sooo annoying, but her song ‘Warwick Ave.’ is really really good. Which reminds me that I still need to buy her CD….
Justin Nozuka. His song ‘After Tonight’ is genious. I could listen to it over and over and over again.
Matt Nathanson. I like his song ‘Come on Get Higher’, and I really like the cover Sugarland did of it. And then he sings ‘Romeo and Juliet’. Well, actually, I think The Killers might have done it first, but I’ve heard his version, and I LOVE it. Many thanks to Marcy for introducing me to Pandora, where I hear about lots and lots of people.
Relient K. I’ve listened to them for a while, but I just bought one of their older CD’s that came out in 2001. Their song ‘Sadie Hawkins Dance’ is really funny.
Okay…that’s all I’ve got to say for now…Peace!

Fred is back!!!!
So, Fred, who happens to be one of my favorite youtube stars, has started making videos again!! =)
On another note, school starts in less than a week. I got my schedule today, Molly got hers yesterday. It was weird to be walking in those halls again. So, I’m hoping that the first day will be okay. Anyone know a really good way to survive french class? (I’m not good with other languages…)

Harry Potter
I have been a fan of Harry Potter for a really long time, and I love the movies, despite the difference between them and the books. I mean, obviously they would have to cut stuff out because the books are long so I’m pretty much okay with that. Can I just say that this trailer is awesome? It does make this movie look ‘darker’ than the others, but, I mean, the story line is getting pretty intense. I just can’t believe that they moved the release date! It was supposed to come out November 21 of this year, which I was happy about, because I wouldn’t have to wait that long. But now, they moved the release to the summer of 2009. This will make quite a gap between the release of the fifth movie and the release of the sixth. But, obviously, they think it will be fine. At least it won’t be so long between the sixth and the first part of the seventh movie though.
Opinions?
Twilight
Okay, that’s the second teaser trailer that Summit released for Twilight. I like this one a lot. Okay..the bright side of HP being moved? Twilight has taken it’s place. Summit took advantage of the open weekend, and Twilight will now be released November 21 rather than December 12. Needless to say, I’m super excited. And, since it’s only two days before my birthday, I think we might be going to see it that weekend. Yay!!!
Opinions on the trailer?
Mamma Mia!!!
(If you’re planning on going to the movie, don’t read this post..there will be spoilers!)
So, me and Molly really wanted to go see Mamma Mia. It’s playing in the town a half hour away from us, so our parents decided we could go. We all drove down there last night and my parents dropped us off at the theatre and they went to go eat with some friends. Me and Molly were really excited to see the movie, and I’m glad we did see it. It was really good.
Usually, the whole random-song-dance-that-everyone-knows-thing bugs me. In this movie it didn’t. Not at all. The songs were good and funny, and the dances were too. It was entertaining, and I think they put music in the right places.
The plot was also good. If you don’t already know, the plot was that the girl, Sophie, is getting married, and she wants her father to give her away. The problem is that she doesn’t know who her father is. She knows there are three possible guys, and so she invites them all, thinking she’ll know her father when she sees him. But when she sees them, she still doesn’t know. The whole movie is about her trying to find her real dad, and as it goes on, she finds that journey just getting more and more complicated, because the three guys all think that they are her dad. The guys can’t figure it out either. So, Sophie asks her mother to give her away at the wedding instead, so the wedding comes, and you think you’ll finally get to find out who the dad is. Nope. She (Sophie) decides she doesn’t care who her dad is. At this point, I was a little disappointed. After all, that was kind of what the movie was about, right? Anyway, and then Sophie declares she doesn’t want to get married! She wants to travel the world with her fiancee/boyfriend (it’s not really clear what he is at that point) But, you still get a wedding. Sophie’s mother marries one of the possible dad’s, who is played by Pierce Brosnan. So, there is a happy ending. It was a good storyline, and it was a great cast. Amanda Seyfried (Sophie) and Meryl Streep (her mother in the movie) really did look like they could be mother/daughter, which was good. Me and Molly were both happy about that. Anyway, it was a great movie, and very fun to see.
A Little Bit Longer
So, the new Jonas Brothers CD came out yesterday, and since Molly had pre-ordered the CD, she got hers today. We’ve been waiting for this CD for quite a while now, and we’re very excited to finally have it. In my opinion, the wait was worth it. These three brothers are incredibly talented, and if their last CD wasn’t enough to prove it, this one should convince you of that fact. The lyrics are amazing, and they write all their own lyrics, which only makes this CD better in my book.
There are so many good songs on this CD, it’s hard to choose my favorite. So, my favoritesare A Little Bit Longer, Lovebug, BB Good, and Sorry. If you haven’t already, I suggest you go buy this CD and give it a listen. You can check out their myspace here.
Peace

30 minutes for the clouds
These are some pictures that I took earlier tonight. My mom was nice enough to drive me around town for a half hour searching for places to capture the clouds. The one that I like the most is the one with the streaks of color through it. Those streaks are actually neon signs. For some reason, that’s the way it turned out. I think the camera must have gotten bumped or something, but the lights only blurred. The eighth picture up is actually a building (with the clouds behind it..) The lights from main street were reflected in the windows of the building, and that’s how it turned out. Anyway, I liked these pictures and thought I’d post ‘em.

Broken Hearts
The sun is bright,
shining in my teary eyes,
but shadows fall
above your head.
Your mouth moves,
but your voice
has been taken
by the wind
that circles you.
Your feet
are cut and bleeding,
but you
keep running.
And you never
let anyone in
your storm.
You see through
red eyes.
I reach out,
but my hand fades
when we touch.
And now I
can only watch.
And now I
can only cry
the tears
that won’t leave your eyes.
And now I
can only pray.
And now I
can only hope
that you’ll have
the strength.
I cannot choose
your fate.
