Broken Hearts

The sun is bright,
shining in my teary eyes,
but shadows fall
above your head.
Your mouth moves,
but your voice
has been taken
by the wind
that circles you.
Your feet
are cut and bleeding,
but you
keep running.
And you never
let anyone in
your storm.
You see through
red eyes.
I reach out,
but my hand fades
when we touch.
And now I
can only watch.
And now I
can only cry
the tears
that won’t leave your eyes.
And now I
can only pray.
And now I
can only hope
that you’ll have
the strength.
I cannot choose
your fate.

  1. Rose, if you don’t publish your poems some how, I’m doing it for you.
